Education Specialist

An education specialist teaches customers how to use Autodesk design software through Advanced Solutions' PILOT (Professional Instructor Live Online Training) Program, contributes to Advanced Solutions’ e‐learning offerings, and participates in Advanced Solution content publishing related to engineering discipline of focus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Trains/Coaches Advanced Solutions' customers on Autodesk design software
  • Provides technical support to customers live via GoToMeeting®
  • Conducts product demonstrations.
  • Develops company's custom content for Autodesk's Manufacturing Design applications: AutoCAD®, Mechanical, Inventor and Vault applications
  • Trains 3.5 hours before lunch and 3.5 hours after lunch
  • Trains students with various levels of knowledge
  • Reacts positively to change and performs other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Capability and experience in training/coaching users with Autodesk applications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, Vault or equivalent applications
  • Industry knowledge of software being taught
  • Understanding of industry specific workflows and processes
  • Capability for self-learning software and computer technology
  • Comfortable with training via web and in person
  • Knowledge of history of other software solutions students may have been using
  • Ability to create content with Word and PowerPoint

Minimum Education & Work Experience

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in the software industry
  • Must have passion for teaching/instruction of others
  • Preferred Technical Writing Skills
